Cloud Architect

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect based in Abu Dhabi to design and oversee enterprise cloud infrastructures. The role involves creating and maintaining comprehensive cloud reference architectures, standards, and governance artifacts while providing expert architectural guidance throughout various project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and updating cloud reference frameworks including standards, patterns, templates, and governance documents.
• Establishing standards for cloud landing zones, networking, IAM, security protocols, containerization, resilience strategies, disaster recovery, monitoring (observability), and infrastructure as code.
• Delivering hands-on architectural direction spanning planning, design, implementation, and operational readiness.
• Conducting thorough reviews of high-level and low-level design documents, infrastructure configurations, connectivity solutions, and disaster recovery plans.
• Evaluating cloud solutions for security robustness, scalability, availability, performance, interoperability, and compliance with data residency requirements.
• Identifying architectural risks, gaps, technical debts, and compliance issues to ensure system integrity.
• Encouraging the reuse of approved cloud services and infrastructure design patterns to maximize efficiency.
• Assessing new and emerging cloud technologies and recommending their adoption when appropriate.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years' experience in infrastructure and cloud environments, with particular emphasis on cloud architecture.
• Demonstrable expertise in creating and managing cloud standards, reference architectures, patterns, templates, and governance frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud landing zones, networking, security, identity and access management (IAM), container technologies, resilience planning, disaster recovery, observability tools, and infrastructure as code.
• Proven experience reviewing and certifying enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
• Possession of a cloud architecture certification is highly preferred.
• Experience in government, regulated sectors, or large enterprises is advantageous.
