Job description
Role Summary
The Client Director position involves crafting, guiding, and implementing strategic initiatives for key global or large regional clients that hold significant strategic value and revenue potential. The role carries a sales quota and emphasizes delivering value to clients, retaining existing business, and driving new sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture trust-driven, value-centric relationships with senior technology leadership across major global accounts.
- Gain thorough insights into clients' business strategies, drivers, and goals to uncover opportunities maximizing client value and identifying additional engagement areas.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients across their core international locations.
- Develop and direct account and territory strategies to achieve year-over-year growth and enhance client retention.
- Create superior account strategies and licensing architectures, shaping the account vision and steering progress toward objectives.
- Coordinate account planning and execution with internal cross-business-unit teams.
- Maintain dynamic prospecting efforts through strategic coordination and execution of outreach activities.
- Manage accounts focusing on increasing engagement, retention, and expansion.
- Hold responsibility for quota performance aligned to designated multinational accounts.
- Master Gartner’s sales approaches and product portfolio.
- Ensure consistent application of Gartner’s best sales practices.
- Manage forecasting processes and maintain accuracy on monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Stay informed regarding competitive landscape and focus on competitor-related insights.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Over 15 years of professional experience, including more than 10 years in sales roles.
- Demonstrable success in quota-driven consultative selling environments, preferably within high-tech sectors such as software or services.
- Experience building and fostering trust-based relationships with C-suite and senior executives in multinational organizations, providing strategic business insights.
- Expertise in global account planning, territory management, and crafting solution/license strategies.
- Exceptional intellectual capability, motivation, influence skills, executive presence, relationship management, sales expertise, collaboration aptitude, and persuasive communication.
- Ability to understand enterprise-level challenges and develop innovative integrated solutions that aid IT decision-making in large companies.
- Strong understanding of technology procurement and buying processes in large global enterprises.
- Relevant and extensive knowledge of industry verticals specific to assigned territories.
- Excellent presentation skills and proficiency in business software applications such as PowerPoint, CRM systems, Word, and Excel.
- Competency in managing the full sales cycle effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree is advantageous.
