About the Role
If you seek a rewarding and varied career within a stable, expanding financial institution, Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited offers an excellent opportunity to join their Branch Operations team as a Client Care Officer based in Kingston.
The role focuses on ensuring consistently high-quality professional service delivery, including value-adding after-sales support, while assisting branch management in monitoring service standards within the branch environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome walk-in clients and guide them to the correct branch personnel for assistance.
- Meet assigned cross-selling and referral goals by identifying opportunities and educating clients on suitable products and services meeting their needs.
- Oversee the Cheque Deposit Box to maintain timely clearance processes.
- Verify cheque deposit envelopes and maintain the night deposit log accurately.
- Print interim account statements as required.
- Handle Cheque Book Custodian responsibilities, including processing requests and updating system records upon receipt.
- Record all returned cheques daily in the register meticulously.
- Provide backup support as a Client Service Representative when necessary.
- Assist Operations Team with end-of-day branch closure tasks such as Teller Lock-Up duties and cash verification activities including Surprise Cash Counts after business hours.
- Comply strictly with the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) regulations at all times.
- Ensure promotional brochures and materials are fully stocked and accessible in the banking hall.
- Carry out any additional job-related duties assigned periodically.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A first degree in Business Management or a closely related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Customer Service training is advantageous.
- At least two years of experience working in a Customer Service environment.
- Experience within a Commercial Bank setting is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Understanding of the Bank’s policies and operational procedures.
- Knowledge and adherence to the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
- Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal, communication, and complaint resolution skills.
- Capability to operate effectively in a fast-moving work environment.
- High respect for confidentiality.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
