Role Summary

We are seeking a Hygiene Operative for our Puratos Fourayes facility in Sittingbourne, the leading fruit processor and grower in the UK. Reporting to the Technical Manager, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the cleanliness and hygienic standards of the factory premises and offices during the daytime shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning offices, kitchen areas, and all refrigerated units thoroughly.
  • Maintaining tidiness and hygiene in communal spaces such as the canteen.
  • Cleaning walls, floors, and ceilings in shared areas to high standards.
  • Preparing cleaning solutions accurately from concentrated products.
  • Operating and caring for cleaning equipment efficiently.
  • Filling out required cleaning documentation meticulously.
  • Managing daily laundering of protective clothing and monitoring their condition for each staff member.
  • Coordinating with engineers to ensure laundry machinery maintenance and upkeep.
  • Monitoring and managing stock levels of cleaning consumables.
  • Engaging in further training as required and providing coverage during staff absences.

Candidate Profile

  • Ability to keep accurate and timely cleaning records.
  • Basic proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Previous experience in a similar hygiene or cleaning role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Self-driven with a solid work ethic.
  • Capable of working independently without direct supervision.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly wage of £12.98.
  • Additional 5% bonus scheme.
  • Regular work schedule totaling 40 hours per week with shared shifts covering 06:00 to 17:00.
