About the Company
Our organization develops, constructs, owns, and manages renewable energy projects across New Zealand, maintaining a portfolio that includes utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. We are driving New Zealand's transition to replace fossil generation while supporting electrification in transport and industry, based out of Christchurch.
Programme Overview
This two-year, full-time rotational programme is designed for recent graduates eager to gain comprehensive exposure to the clean energy industry before selecting a specialization. Participants undertake three eight-month rotations in core business areas aligned with their interests and strengths:
- Development: activities such as site selection, gaining consents, grid connectivity, and commercial preparation, moving projects from concept to shovel-ready status.
- Engineering & Construction: covering technical design, coordination of contractors, and onsite project delivery.
- Finance & Asset Management: focusing on investment evaluation, project financing, and managing the commercial operations of the energy portfolio.
Graduates will conclude the programme with a permanent role in their preferred department, alongside a well-rounded understanding and network across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as an active team member with real responsibilities and accountable deliverables from the start.
- Support ongoing projects through data analysis, modeling, application preparations, technical assessments, and on-site visits.
- Present findings and work outcomes to senior leadership at the end of each rotation phase.
- Learn through direct mentorship from industry experts in development, engineering, and finance.
- Develop cross-functional skills needed for career advancement in the clean energy sector.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, economics, finance, business, or a related discipline.
- A strong interest in clean energy and the shift toward a low-carbon economy.
- Proficiency in analytical thinking, familiarity with data handling and spreadsheets, and a willingness to master new tools.
- Effective communication skills and confidence to collaborate across different departments.
- Adaptability to thrive across three diverse rotations involving new teams and challenges.
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand.
- No previous energy sector experience required; demonstrated initiative through internships, research, or campus activities is valued.
