Introduction
Team Global Express NZ, serving freight forwarding, end-to-end transportation, and logistics solutions throughout New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill, is growing its Invercargill team due to internal movements. This role offers a unique flexibility in the transport sector with a stable weekday shift schedule and opportunities for additional hours.
Work Schedule and Role Scope
The position requires working Monday to Friday, starting around 7:30 AM, with a guaranteed consistent 30-hour week on a dedicated Southland route servicing local townships and a key customer. Those seeking more hours can supplement their schedule with metro runs, increasing to a 40-hour workweek.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely loading and unloading freight manually or using a forklift when needed.
- Handling freight carefully to avoid any damage during transit.
- Scanning all freight items upon handling to ensure tracking accuracy.
- Ensuring punctual and complete delivery and collection of freight.
- Engaging fully in all safety procedures and protocols.
- Operating the vehicle safely and in compliance with legal standards.
- Maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle, both interior and exterior.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a clean, full New Zealand Class 4 driving license (mandatory).
- Possession of a clean, full New Zealand Class 5 driving license (mandatory).
- Preferably holding a forklift license with an OSH certificate.
- Preferably having a Dangerous Goods endorsement.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Good communication abilities and teamwork skills.
- Experience driving on New Zealand roads.
