About the Role
The Claims Specialist will ensure the efficient handling of cargo claims within DSV Air & Sea Singapore Pte Ltd, focusing on incident-related cargo damages during transit. This role requires providing professional and timely customer service to both internal and external stakeholders throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to DSV Group Cargo Insurance Claims Handling Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Understand and apply DSV Freight Forwarders Liability (FFL) Claims Handling Procedures.
- Oversee claim registrations through the Riskonnect portal and coordinate with customers utilizing MYDSV for claims submission.
- Daily monitoring of all Singapore-based claims via Riskonnect.
- Conduct investigations into the underlying causes of cargo damage in collaboration with relevant internal and external parties to determine liable entities.
- Provide continual updates and feedback on claim progress to customers and internal teams.
- Ensure protection of DSV's subrogation rights by issuing Notices of Intention to Claim to liable parties when appropriate.
- Apply International Conventions and DSV Standard Terms & Conditions (including Ocean Transport BL Terms and Airway Bill Terms) to evaluate liability limits and claim settlements.
- Support immediate supervisors and team members on additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or degree from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Preferably 2 to 3 years of experience related to international transportation, cargo insurance, or claims management.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent negotiation abilities, effective communication skills, and capability to work under pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude towards managing complexities and time effectively.
Experience
- Minimum 2 to 3 years in customer service or cargo claims handling roles.
- Background in freight forwarding and/or general insurance industries is advantageous.
