Claims Associate

Position Overview

As a Claims Associate at Walmart Canada, you will play a key role in maintaining inventory integrity and enhancing store profitability by managing damaged and returned merchandise according to company policies. Your work will involve partnering with vendors, store associates, and customers to ensure accurate credit processing, inventory control, and seamless store functioning. Commitment to detail and excellent customer service are crucial for safeguarding company assets and fostering a positive environment for customers and staff.

Primary Responsibilities

• Quickly and accurately scan damaged and stolen items to minimize losses.
• Prepare returns, vendor requests, product recalls, and donations by completing documentation, organizing packaging, and shipping items promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe claims area, following safety procedures related to lifting, ladder use, and chemical disposal.
• Adhere to company procedures for handling damaged and recalled goods, keeping claims current and completing documentation to reduce chargebacks.
• Complete assigned Customer Value Program (CVP) tasks by following established processes and systems.
• Provide support to Office Support Associates and Direct Store Delivery Associates as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support business needs.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced setting, especially during overnight shifts, with effective energy and focus management.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including extended standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive activities such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products while maintaining accuracy and store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.55 CAD.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement: 16 years or older.
