Civil Estimator

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and energetic Civil Estimator to become a key part of our dynamic construction team. This permanent role involves working on diverse construction projects including asphalt paving, grading, drainage, and overall site development. The estimator will be pivotal in providing accurate financial projections and managing multiple bid submissions. Proficiency in DOT Standards and expertise with software like ADTek, HeavyBid, and Bluebeam, along with the capability to interpret blueprints, is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive estimates and submit bids, accurately reflecting project requirements and costs.
• Interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications to fully grasp project scopes.
• Leverage specialized tools such as HeavyBid and AgTek to perform project takeoffs and cost assessments.
• Conduct detailed analysis of pricing trends and construction expenses to submit competitive bids.
• Simultaneously oversee multiple bidding processes to ensure punctual and precise completion.
• Engage with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve uncertainties and confirm project expectations.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT Standards during project estimation and bid preparation.
• Perform takeoffs specifically for asphalt, grading, drainage, and site development projects.
• Stay abreast of industry developments to enhance and update estimation methodologies continuously.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in civil estimating within the construction sector.
• Skilled in using estimation software such as HeavyBid and AgTek.
• Deep understanding and practical application of DOT Standards in project cost estimations.
• Competent in reading and interpreting detailed blueprints and construction project documents.
• Proven track record managing several bids and conducting accurate takeoffs.
• Strong analytical skills to precisely evaluate pricing data and construction costs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes involving asphalt, grading, drainage, and site development.
• Exceptional attention to detail, guaranteeing accuracy and quality results.
• Capability to perform efficiently under tight schedules and rapidly changing project demands.
