Due to significant growth and an expanding portfolio of major civil engineering initiatives, we are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator to enhance our pre-construction team based in our Sallins office.
Role Overview
This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals specialized in civil engineering estimation to contribute crucially to the accurate preparation of competitive tenders, cost appraisals, and commercial proposals for prominent infrastructure projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile precise cost estimations, tender submissions, pricing structures, and cost plans related to civil engineering initiatives.
- Analyze project documentation including drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and tender briefs to comprehend the full project scope.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Recognize project risks, opportunities, exclusions, and value engineering possibilities during the tender phase.
- Engage collaboratively with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Assist in preparing commercial clarifications, responding to tender inquiries, and managing bid documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of estimates, quotations, assumptions, and related tender materials.
- Coordinate closely with pre-construction, commercial, operational, and business development teams to ensure timely and competitive submissions.
- Deliver estimates within set deadlines while maintaining accuracy and competitiveness.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Have 3 to 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Experience working with a main contractor is highly valued.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of civil engineering, infrastructure, heavy civil work, and public projects.
- Exhibit excellent numerical, analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of interpreting technical drawings, specifications, tender documents, and bills of quantities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Possess strong communication skills, organizational capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with various teams.
- Adopt a practical, commercially minded, and solution-oriented approach.
