Role Overview

We are looking for a talented expert in CIM Data Modelling and Data Integration within the Electric Utility sector. This role demands strong knowledge of IEC CIM standards, data architecture, and system integration, alongside expertise in Asset Management. The successful candidate will support interoperability across enterprise systems (GIS, APM, EAM, ADMS, SCADA, etc.) by managing data models and integration frameworks aligned with the company’s asset management and digital transformation goals.

Responsibilities

• Create and sustain CIM-compliant data models for transmission, distribution, and generation asset domains using standards like IEC 61970, IEC 61968, and IEC 62325.
• Lead system integrations involving GIS, EAM (Maximo/SAP), APM platforms, ADMS, SCADA, and data repositories using CIM or other semantic models.
• Architect semantic mappings and canonical models to guarantee uniform and precise data exchange across systems.
• Work closely with asset management teams to capture asset lifecycle needs supporting use cases such as condition-based maintenance, Asset Health Index (AHI), risk planning, and outage analytics.
• Develop and maintain data dictionaries, mapping guides, and data lineage documentation for asset data management.
• Assist in ETL/ELT operations, API utilization, and real-time data exchange integration for both structured and unstructured asset data.
• Provide recommendations on data governance, quality assurance, and master data management to maintain data integrity.
• Facilitate workshops with business and IT partners to define requirements and adapt CIM models accordingly.
• Keep abreast of latest CIM standards and industry trends, fostering internal knowledge sharing.

Candidate Profile

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Electric Utility domain, including at least 3 years handling CIM standards and data modelling.
• Demonstrated asset management expertise with platforms such as IBM Maximo, SAP EAM, or equivalent.
• Practical experience integrating GIS (ESRI, Smallworld), APM (IBM, GE, ABB), ADMS, SCADA, and data warehouse systems.
• In-depth understanding of power system modeling, network topology, and asset hierarchies.
• Working knowledge of integration platforms like ESBs, middleware, or API solutions including MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, and Azure Integration Services.
• Awareness of data governance frameworks, metadata control, and data quality practices.
