Role Overview

The Asset Management Consultant will assist electric utility clients in the design, deployment, and refinement of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Asset Performance Management (APM) systems. This role translates operational and business needs into system configurations, process enhancements, and data models aimed at optimizing asset reliability, compliance, and lifecycle value across generation, transmission, and distribution sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with requirement gathering, functional design, configuration, and implementation of EAM/APM or similar platforms.
• Serve as the functional expert for asset management processes during system projects, upgrades, and deployments.
• Support system setup, validation, testing, and user acceptance procedures.
• Perform current and future state assessments, gap analyses, and process harmonization with stakeholders.
• Develop and document comprehensive asset management processes such as work management, preventive and condition-based maintenance, lifecycle planning, and failure handling.
• Create business process flows, functional specs, configuration documents, and solution designs.
• Contribute to reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), risk-based maintenance (RBM), FMECA/FMEA analyses, Asset Health Index development, and related frameworks.
• Translate reliability and risk models into actionable EAM/APM system logics, thresholds, and workflows.
• Facilitate APM use cases including condition monitoring integration, asset health scoring, failure probability and criticality analysis, and predictive analytics enablement.
• Collaborate with data analytics teams to ensure asset-centric data structures support APM outcomes.
• Assist with asset data quality evaluations, cleansing efforts, and master data standardization during implementations.
• Help define asset master data hierarchies, standards, and governance policies.
• Support functional alignment and integration of EAM with systems like SCADA, EMS, GIS, ERP, Field Service Management, and analytics platforms.
• Coordinate with technical teams providing functional input for system integrations (not as integration architect).

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics engineering or related field.
• 12 to 15+ years of experience in EAM/APM implementation projects.
• Thorough understanding of electric utility operations including transmission, distribution, and substations.
• Practical experience with IBM Maximo, IBM MAS, or comparable EAM/APM technologies.
• Proficiency in RCM, FMECA, APM, asset health assessment, failure analysis, and maintenance strategies.
