Job description
Role Overview
The IC Architect is responsible for designing and delivering advanced system-on-chip (SoC) architectures for upcoming products. This position involves transforming product needs into a comprehensive and efficient architecture that balances factors such as power consumption, performance, area, and cost. The architect leads the definition process, supports design teams, and ensures successful chip tape-out and manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and define the overall integrated circuit architecture, including digital, analog, and mixed-signal components, collaborating with the analog IC architect and managing test strategies.
- Translate broad product specifications into precise, actionable technical requirements for engineering teams.
- Optimize system-level trade-offs among performance, power, size, and cost to align with product objectives.
- Collaborate across functions working with product management, software architecture, and customers to clarify requirements and coordinate with project management on resource allocation, schedules, and milestones.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring and guiding design engineers and subsystem architects through development and implementation phases.
- Engage and coordinate with external suppliers and partners to define technical interfaces and ensure alignment.
- Support structured project management practices and maintain effective communication with both local and distributed teams.
- Lead the comprehensive chip delivery lifecycle, spanning from initial concept and specifications to tape-out, qualification, and production stages.
