About Youth Legacy Forum ug
Youth Legacy Forum ug, located in Kampala, is dedicated to empowering young individuals to actively contribute to their communities and society at large. It offers platforms for dialogue, skills growth, and leadership development, addressing social, economic, and civic challenges faced by youth in Uganda and the surrounding region. The organization emphasizes innovation, accountability, and inclusive participation to nurture emerging leaders.
Role Overview
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Kampala. The CEO will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, guiding organizational performance and ensuring the sustainability of Youth Legacy Forum ug. This includes overseeing program design and execution, managing staff and organizational operations, financial supervision, along with cultivating solid partnerships and stakeholder relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage staff across various departments to align efforts with the organization’s mission.
- Supervise daily operations and financial management to ensure efficiency and accountability.
- Develop and implement strategic and business plans to fulfill organizational goals.
- Drive fundraising and resource mobilization initiatives to support and expand programs.
- Monitor organizational impact, compliance with regulations, and risk management practices.
- Represent the organization in public forums and advocate for youth-related issues.
- Create and maintain a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture promoting empowerment and innovation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong competencies in financial and operational management, including budgeting and process improvements.
- Proven skill in strategic and business planning to direct long-term organizational growth.
- Experience in sales and stakeholder relations to successfully secure partnerships and funding.
- Prior leadership roles in nonprofits, social enterprises, or organizations with youth-focused initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities to effectively influence multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical aptitude for performance monitoring, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Management, Social Sciences, or related fields; advanced degrees (MBA, MPA) are advantageous.
- Experience working in Uganda or the East African region and familiarity with youth development or advocacy sectors is preferred.
