Chemical Technician

Job Role Overview

The Chemical Technician will ensure adherence to operational protocols and maintain compliance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role involves sampling products, monitoring process trends, responding promptly to alarms on control systems, and supporting investigations via impact assessments and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply operational expertise to comply with SOPs effectively.
• Carry out product sampling from process equipment according to SOP requirements.
• Continuously observe process trends and respond to control panel alarms using DeltaV DCS and PLC HMI systems.
• Provide input for investigations, conduct impact assessments, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain complete and accurate records aligned with GMP standards.
• Conduct routine equipment cleaning, including manual methods, CIP, and COP, based on approved instructions and SOPs.
• Maintain plant upkeep and perform regular housekeeping to ensure all areas are audit-ready.
• Manage chemical waste collection, segregation, and disposal following SOP guidelines.
• Promote a safe working environment consistent with regulatory and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, both local and global.
• Demonstrate a strong foundational understanding of process safety, cleaning changeover recipes, and API manufacturing unit operations.
• Communicate process status proactively with team members during shifts and handovers, reporting issues promptly to supervisors.
• Assist in commissioning and validation protocol execution as necessary.
• Complete all scheduled training programs including On-the-Job Training (OJT), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Instructor-Led Training (ILT), and review procedural documents.
• Ensure processes proceed according to schedule with minimal delays and notify shift supervisor in advance of any expected interruptions.
• Uphold excellent data integrity standards throughout operations.
• Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Help promote the services offered by Antaes in conjunction with supporting clients.

Candidate Profile

• Possess NITEC, Diploma in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in chemical or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Proficient in working with DeltaV Distributed Control System and MES platforms.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including day and night schedules.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and communication competencies.
