Job description

Overview

Join the prestigious St. Regis Hotels & Resorts as a Chef de Partie at Olea Kitchen located on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. This full-time, onsite role involves supervising kitchen staff and ensuring the excellence of culinary presentations and food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and organize the daily activities of cooks and kitchen personnel.
  • Design the presentation of dishes and create appealing food displays.
  • Maintain proper food portioning, arrangement, and garnishing to ensure high standards.
  • Track food preparation quantities and update Food & Beverage service teams regarding menu specials and unavailable items.
  • Prepare special dietary meals or alternatives as required.
  • Support kitchen staff by providing necessary tools and assistance.
  • Manage inventory levels of kitchen stock and consumables.
  • Maintain thorough kitchen logs related to food safety and product quality.
  • Verify food items meet quality standards and escalate issues to management.
  • Assist management with recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of kitchen employees.
  • Adhere to all organizational safety and security protocols and report any hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Ensure personal appearance and uniforms comply with professionalism standards; maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information and safeguard company assets.
  • Respond to guest service needs professionally and clearly communicate with team members.
  • Foster positive workplace relationships and a collaborative team environment.
  • Meet established quality expectations and standards consistently.
  • Maintain physical stamina for prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and performing tasks involving bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
  • Between 4 and 6 years of relevant culinary work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role within the kitchen environment.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
