Job description
Overview
Join the prestigious St. Regis Hotels & Resorts as a Chef de Partie at Olea Kitchen located on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. This full-time, onsite role involves supervising kitchen staff and ensuring the excellence of culinary presentations and food quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and organize the daily activities of cooks and kitchen personnel.
- Design the presentation of dishes and create appealing food displays.
- Maintain proper food portioning, arrangement, and garnishing to ensure high standards.
- Track food preparation quantities and update Food & Beverage service teams regarding menu specials and unavailable items.
- Prepare special dietary meals or alternatives as required.
- Support kitchen staff by providing necessary tools and assistance.
- Manage inventory levels of kitchen stock and consumables.
- Maintain thorough kitchen logs related to food safety and product quality.
- Verify food items meet quality standards and escalate issues to management.
- Assist management with recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of kitchen employees.
- Adhere to all organizational safety and security protocols and report any hazards or incidents promptly.
- Ensure personal appearance and uniforms comply with professionalism standards; maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information and safeguard company assets.
- Respond to guest service needs professionally and clearly communicate with team members.
- Foster positive workplace relationships and a collaborative team environment.
- Meet established quality expectations and standards consistently.
- Maintain physical stamina for prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and performing tasks involving bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, pulling, and stooping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
- Between 4 and 6 years of relevant culinary work experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role within the kitchen environment.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
