Role Overview: CDZ Operations Specialist

Located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, this role centers on managing customs and trade compliance processes to enhance both service quality and cost-effectiveness during customs clearance. Your responsibilities will span planning and overseeing the flow of air and surface freight to ensure timely customs clearance, monitoring shipment status and regulatory compliance, processing entries, classification and security filings, and maintaining thorough documentation and records.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement customs and trade compliance strategies to optimize clearance efficiency and cost performance.
• Plan and manage inbound and outbound shipments ensuring all customs protocols are followed effectively and timely.
• Keep track of shipped goods, validity dates, and applicable duties/tariffs as regulated by government bodies.
• Classify goods based on customer-provided information and complete customs security filings accurately.
• Handle post-clearance modifications and maintain comprehensive archives of customs documents and shipment statuses.
• Calculate applicable duties, tariffs, pricing conversions, and measure merchandise weight and volume.
• Provide advice and guidance on pricing, margins, bids, RFQs, and customer presentations.
• Address and resolve customer concerns and handle escalations or disputes professionally.
• Stay abreast of regulatory updates and ensure strict adherence to compliance and legal requirements related to imports and exports.
• Manage issuance and control of import licenses along with overseeing export process regulations.
• Liaise with customs authorities and governmental agencies to ensure smooth operations and legal compliance.
• Work collaboratively on the development and implementation of workflow models connecting central customs operations with transactional teams.
• Investigate daily operational challenges and enforce best practices and standards aimed at improving efficiency and cost control.
• Research and secure necessary permits, licenses, and certificates required for customs formalities.
• Advise customers on trade compliance matters including shipments involving sanctioned countries.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification/experience required.
• Minimum of more than 4 years’ professional experience in a relevant field.
