CCTV Draftsman – MOI Projects

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled CCTV Draftsman with in-depth knowledge of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) standards and protocols in Qatar, specifically for CCTV and security surveillance initiatives. This position entails creating precise layouts, shop drawings, schematic and riser diagrams, as well as authority submissions and as-built documents aligned with project specifications and MOI regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring 4 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within Qatar, actively contributing to MOI CCTV projects through design, approvals, and completion phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive CCTV layouts, shop drawings, schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, and cable routing plans.
• Generate drawings and documentation compliant with Qatar MOI CCTV standards and protocols.
• Prepare and update drawings necessary for submissions to MOI/SSD and obtain approvals as per project needs.
• Accurately determine camera placements, ensuring adequate coverage, fields of view, and surveillance area identification.
• Visualize and map positions of cameras, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), switches, racks, control rooms, cabling, containment, and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate CCTV schematics with architectural, electrical, MEP, ICT, and additional project disciplines to prevent conflicts.
• Analyze project specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), consultant drawings, and site conditions before drafting.
• Incorporate feedback from MOI, consulting agencies, clients, and engineering teams into revised document submissions.
• Conduct site inspections and measurements when necessary to verify installation conditions.
• Create as-built documentation reflecting on-site installations and approved modifications.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, submissions, and associated technical documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with CCTV engineers, project managers, field teams, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Support technical teams throughout project implementation, including testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover phases.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a similar discipline.
• At least 4 to 5 years of experience as a CCTV or ELV Draftsman.
• Demonstrated experience with MOI CCTV projects specifically in Qatar is strongly preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of MOI procedures for CCTV project submissions, comments, revisions, and approvals.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Familiarity with Revit or BIM software is advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of IP CCTV systems architecture including cameras, NVRs, storage, network switches, racks, and structured cabling.
• Capability to develop CCTV layouts, schematics, riser, shop, coordination, and as-built drawings.
• Expertise in camera coverage, angles of view, installation sites, and surveillance requirements.
• Proven experience in coordinating CCTV designs with architectural, MEP, electrical, and ICT drawings.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and BOQs with accuracy.
• Strong meticulousness and capacity to manage multiple drawing submissions under deadlines.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is an added benefit.
