Job Overview

The CBC Consultant position involves designing and tailoring three GIS web and mobile applications focused on telecommunications or utility network management. This role operates under a hybrid working model and emphasizes delivering configurable solutions that are scalable, maintain data integrity, and facilitate effective collaboration between field and office teams. All developments align with enterprise standards and strategic business goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Architect and set up three GIS web solutions to support complex network planning activities, ensuring compliance with enterprise norms and enhancing operational workflows.
  • Create and sustain customized components for three GIS web clients to improve functionality and provide intuitive user experiences for network engineering teams.
  • Develop and fine-tune mobile customizations within three GIS platforms allowing field technicians to accurately gather network data and synchronize updates swiftly with core systems.
  • Configure map services, including layers and symbology, across three GIS platforms to visually represent network data for decision support and impact evaluation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect CBC requirements and translate them into practical GIS configurations and customization tasks.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical design documents outlining data flow, integration points, and configuration decisions for maintainability.
  • Integrate validation rules and quality assurance checks within the GIS applications to minimize errors and reinforce the reliability of network asset data.
  • Work closely with integration teams enabling connections between GIS solutions and other enterprise systems such as inventory, planning, and work management platforms.
  • Track and analyze the performance of customized GIS web and mobile applications to identify and implement improvements for responsiveness and user satisfaction.
  • Offer advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis on production issues related to GIS customizations, ensuring rapid resolution to minimize operational disruption.
  • Develop configuration manuals and user guides that assist teams in adopting new GIS features and adhere to standardized CBC practices.
  • Conduct training sessions for cross-functional teams on custom GIS capabilities to enhance accuracy and efficiency in network design and field updates.
  • Ensure all GIS configurations comply with organizational security policies and governance frameworks while supporting scalability of network data assets.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by reviewing user engagement with GIS solutions and proposing enhancements that align with organizational strategies and customer satisfaction goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive expertise in customizing three GIS web components, following modern web architecture and enterprise standards.
  • Experience building adaptable GIS modules applicable across various CBC scenarios within multiple business units.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS mobile customization supporting offline capabilities, data capture protocols, and synchronization for field use.
  • Deep understanding of GIS principles, spatial data structures, and network asset management to sustain data quality.
  • Familiarity with scripting or configuration-driven automation within GIS environments to optimize repetitive workflows and minimize errors.
  • Proven capability working in hybrid delivery settings utilizing collaborative tools and structured communication for remote and on-site teams.
  • Analytical aptitude to assess CBC needs, identify limitations in current GIS solutions, and suggest effective improvements.
  • Industry experience in telecommunications or utilities to integrate network design standards, asset hierarchies, and operational criteria into GIS configurations.
  • Ability to document GIS solutions, set configuration standards, and maintain knowledge bases supporting operational continuity and team onboarding.

Certifications

Must hold Esri Technical Certification, GISP, or an equivalent GIS platform certification pertinent to three GIS implementations.
