Role Overview
The Category Manager role, based in Yerevan and requiring on-site presence, involves comprehensive management of designated product categories. Responsibilities encompass portfolio planning, pricing strategy, promotional activities, and lifecycle management to enhance sales and profit margins. The position demands collaboration with sales, marketing, and procurement departments to develop effective category strategies informed by market trends and consumer behavior.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage portfolio planning, pricing, promotions, and lifecycle of assigned product categories to boost sales and profitability.
- Analyze market and consumer data to forecast demand and shape category strategies in cooperation with various internal teams.
- Engage with suppliers for contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and dependable product supply.
- Regularly report performance metrics, monitor competitor activities, and optimize product assortment.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives supporting Megafood's broader strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in category management, particularly in assortment planning, pricing, and promotional planning.
- Advanced analytical capabilities to interpret sales data, market research findings, and predict demand trends.
- Experience handling contract negotiations and managing supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, cost control, and maintaining supply chain continuity.
- A results-driven approach focused on increasing revenue and margins through category initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytics or reporting software; ERP system experience is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective collaboration across departments.
- Well-organized, detail-conscious, and skilled at juggling multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Prior experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or food distribution sectors is preferable.
