Job description
Position Summary
Cashiers serve an essential customer-facing function by delivering prompt, courteous, precise, and safe service at checkout. They handle sales and returns transactions efficiently and oversee the Self-Checkout sections to ensure smooth operation. By continuously acquiring knowledge about products and projects, they can inform customers effectively and spot opportunities to boost sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sales and returns transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area for optimal usability.
- Gain product and project knowledge to assist customers and enhance selling opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies to minimize loss and shrinkage.
Head Cashier Role
Head Cashiers guide and position Cashiers, expedite price verifications, authorize sales register transactions and markdowns across multiple service points including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They serve as the primary customer issue escalation contact and support the coaching and development of Front End Associates through active participation in training new and existing Cashiers.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Minimum of one year experience working as a Cashier.
