Position Overview
The Cashier role is vital in delivering prompt, friendly, and precise customer service by efficiently handling checkout and return transactions while also managing the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers actively enhance their product and project knowledge to assist customers with inquiries and identify opportunities to increase sales. Adherence to company policies ensures shrinkage is kept to a minimum.
For those in a Head Cashier position, responsibilities expand to supervising Cashiers by coordinating their tasks, expediting price checks, authorizing Point of Sale transactions including markdowns across various departments such as main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. Head Cashiers serve as the primary escalation point for customer concerns and participate in coaching and training front-end staff utilizing all available resources for development. The ideal candidate for Head Cashier has over one year of cashier experience.
