Cashier

About the Role

The position of Cashier is essential in delivering prompt, welcoming, precise, and secure service to customers. This role involves handling checkout and return transactions, as well as overseeing the Self-Checkout section. Cashiers actively acquire product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and identify opportunities for sales. They strictly adhere to policies and procedures aimed at reducing shrinkage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct checkout and return transactions efficiently, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee and maintain the Self-Checkout area to provide a seamless customer experience.
• Continuously learn about products and projects to offer informed assistance and identify sales prospects.
• Follow all established policies and procedures to minimize inventory loss.

Head Cashier Specific Duties

• Assign tasks to Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide first-level escalations for customer concerns and assist with supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates.
• Participate in onboarding and training new Cashiers and utilize all available resources to develop team members' skills.

Requirements

• Experience: Preferred minimum of 1 year working as a Cashier.
