Position Overview

The available position is for a skilled Carpenter responsible for executing residential carpentry tasks such as framing, installing fixtures, finishing, and constructing structural elements according to project details and building codes. This is a full-time role offering an annual remuneration package between $80,000 and $83,000 plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install interior elements like fixtures, windows, cabinets, and trims to improve appearance and functionality.
• Fit door hardware including locksets and deadbolts following manufacturer guidelines and site protocols.
• Carry out framing, finishing, and restoration tasks in residential construction projects.
• Measure, shape, and cut materials accurately using hand and power tools.
• Interpret project plans, measurements, and instructions for carpentry work.
• Build and install structural frameworks, floorings, partitions, and roofs according to specifications.
• Assemble and fit timber components and prefabricated materials on site.
• Operate and maintain carpentry machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain workmanship quality, site cleanliness, and comply with safety standards throughout all activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent trade certification.
• Minimum of 12 months' practical experience as a Carpenter in residential construction settings.
• At least 12 months engaging in framing, finishing, and carpentry installations on residential jobs.
• Experience working with LVL and CLT structural timber components over a 12-month period.
• Skilled in applying and detailing Hybrid Cladding Systems, Roof Sarking, and Vapour Control Layers with attention to moisture management and weatherproofing requirements.
• Proficient in coordinating carpentry work interfacing with engineered materials such as GLT beams, PFC, and commercial acoustic and fire-rated timber systems.
• At least one year installing doors, windows, cabinetry, trims, and structural timber elements.
• Comprehensive knowledge of residential building methods, carpentry techniques, and material properties.
• Capability to measure, cut, assemble, and install materials precisely as per project demands.
• Solid understanding of occupational health and safety procedures and construction compliance standards.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other trades and construction personnel.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills in construction environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
