About the Role
Join Heritage Stoneworks as a skilled stonemason contributing to the conservation and maintenance of over 800 heritage-listed sandstone buildings across New South Wales. This role combines expert stonemasonry craftsmanship with heritage conservation standards to support significant public buildings such as schools, hospitals, and courthouses. Located at the Alexandria, Sydney site, you will execute specialized stonework tasks, ensuring all projects align with quality, safety, and heritage preservation criteria.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assigned stonemasonry duties efficiently and safely, employing advanced techniques on diverse materials. Collaborate with teams to analyze and devise effective solutions within project scope while upholding high standards of workmanship in accordance with heritage conservation and regulatory obligations.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a trade certificate or equivalent qualification in stonemasonry supported by relevant industry experience. You should possess extensive understanding of Work Health and Safety regulations related to stonemasonry and demonstrate the capability to maintain safe work environments. A valid Australian driver's licence is essential, with readiness to travel to remote locations potentially involving overnight stays.
Applicants need to satisfy at least two of the following:
- Current High Risk Work licence for Dogging
- Operation and maintenance of two or more factory machines
- Operation and maintenance of water treatment plants
- Proficiency in trimming complex stones post-installation
- Skilled in cutting and fixing complex stones
- Current High Risk Work licence for Basic Scaffolding

Compensation and Benefits
This position follows the Wages Award for 38 hours per week with an annual salary of $77,053.60 plus additional allowances and superannuation, totalling approximately $12,000 annually for travel and fares.
