Cargo Security Agent

About the Role

The Cargo Security Agent supports the implementation of departmental security policies to ensure full compliance with legislation and maintain the safety of cargo originating or transferring through Doha. This role contributes to safeguarding assets, personnel, and customers by practicing security duties aligned with the security program.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct cargo consignment screening using approved methods as per cargo screening instructions.
• Execute warehouse security protocols according to cargo security procedures.
• Patrol and monitor the facility to verify adherence to security guidelines.
• Implement security directives and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Investigate security incidents such as theft and prepare clear and accurate initial reports.
• Escort and supervise movement of valuable or vulnerable shipments within the facility.
• Maintain custody of the Cargo strong room key.
• Guide third-party contractors and staff regarding security practices.
• Understand and apply core principles of the security program ensuring local and international compliance and mitigate workplace risks aligned with the company’s safety management system (SMS).
• Coordinate with Ministry of Interior (MOI) for cargo screening and adhere to specific screening requirements.
• Handle security and cargo related documentation as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum educational qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant job experience.
• Formal training or practical experience in aviation security.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication abilities with a customer service focus, following company policies and standards.
• Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and adapt to shift work and extended hours as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime when required to meet operational targets.
• Strict adherence to Qatar Airways Security (QAS) SOPs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Arabic language is regarded as an advantage.
