About the Role
This role focuses on providing cargo and baggage transportation and logistical assistance by operating light vehicles and assigned equipment. The candidate will work within specific operational teams to uphold high operational standards consistent with company policies and Customer Airline Standard Ground Handling Agreements and service level agreements.
Key Accountabilities
- Transport cargo and baggage loads across airside locations, giving special attention to items needing special handling like Dangerous Goods (DG), Valuables (VAL), Perishables (PER), Courier (COU), Aviation parts (AVI), and mail, following operational, safety, and security procedures.
- Utilize system applications and handheld terminals with assigned equipment for tracking shipment delivery times and locations.
- Maintain safety standards to prevent accidents, incidents, or delivery failures.
- Arrange necessary Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Non-Motorized Equipment (NME) for loading and unloading operations at airside locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects to ensure serviceability.
- Remove any unserviceable or damaged equipment during regular shift checks.
- Manage distribution and recycling of NME and Unit Load Devices (ULDs) as per shift instructions and schedules.
- Handle special cargo such as perishables and pharmaceuticals with due care.
- Deliver cargo and baggage strictly according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), preventing mishandling or damage.
- Ensure all loads with equipment are securely fastened during movement.
- Perform safety checks on towed loads, verifying proper conditions and loading limits to avoid accidents.
- Assist with loading, unloading, pushing, and pulling ULDs at airside premises.
- Operate specific GSE following company health, safety, and training protocols.
- Check electric tractors upon arrival at charging stations, ensuring readiness for operations post-charge.
- Document any defects and charging data of electric tractors for shift and periodic reports.
- Ensure tractor batteries are charged per schedule and procedures.
- Coordinate scheduled release of electric tractors to operations and hand over documentation to supervisors.
- Distribute water and electrolyte supplies to staff at airside premises using assigned vehicles.
Additional Information
- Employment is on a fixed-term contract of three years.
- Work is shift-based, totaling 48 hours per week with paid overtime if needed.

Qualifications and Eligibility
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills, with English communication ability appropriate for entry-level roles; prior related work experience is not mandatory.
- Fluent command of English.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Airport Vehicle Operation Permit (AVOP).
- Possession of a valid light vehicle license from the home country.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a Qatari light vehicle driving license.
