Job Overview
We are offering an excellent fixed-term opportunity, lasting until the end of February 2027, for a Caretaker/Janitor to support Renfrewshire Schools, specifically at Woodlands Primary School located in Linwood, Paisley, Scotland. This role requires working 40 hours per week with a shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, compensated at £14.70 per hour.
About the Role
As a part of Amey’s Renfrewshire Schools team providing facilities and estate management across nine schools, you will play a vital role ensuring that school environments are safe, clean, and compliant. You will contribute to creating high-quality learning spaces that enable teachers to inspire and students to achieve valuable qualifications.
Key Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of the school premises ensuring smooth functioning.
- Conduct practical DIY maintenance and minor repairs including furniture fixes and wall repairs.
- Ensure all heating, lighting, and alarm systems are operational.
- Secure the building by verifying that doors and windows are locked after use.
- Monitor the property to prevent vandalism and safeguard premises.
- Prepare rooms for meetings or assemblies by arranging furniture and clearing post-events.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas including litter picking.
Candidate Profile
- Possess hands-on DIY skills for minor maintenance work.
- Demonstrate ability to be a reliable team member.
- Adaptability to flexible shift working hours.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with both clients and colleagues on site.
- Commitment to supporting local and corporate zero carbon initiatives in a strategic and efficient manner.
- Responsible for upholding health and safety standards throughout the contract.
