Job description

Position Overview

Carvana, one of the fastest-growing used car retailers in the United States, is seeking entry-level Lot Attendants to contribute to vehicle appearance and overall market operations at the St Louis, MO location. This full-time role focuses on ensuring vehicles are clean and maintained while coordinating with team members to support timely deliveries and excellent customer service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues, drivability concerns, and cosmetic defects.
  • Regularly wash and vacuum all inventory to maintain showroom-quality standards.
  • Perform multi-point inspections on arriving vehicles, checking fuel levels, safety components, drivability, and proper display of company and state disclosures.
  • Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with coworkers and external vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management across various business divisions.
  • Adhere to consistent and reliable attendance schedules as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Preferred educational background is a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last three years.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently, often from knee to shoulder height, and carry loads up to 60 pounds across distances of up to 20 feet.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in varied environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or involve exposure to vehicle-related odors or fumes.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions is required.
  • Excellent visual acuity and fine motor skills are necessary.
  • Use of safety gear such as face shields or goggles, gloves, non-slip footwear, masks, and other protective clothing as appropriate.
  • Driving and occasional typing are part of the job activities.
  • Must maintain regular and dependable attendance.

Compensation and Career Progression

  • Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.
  • Pay increases occur every three months based on performance, progressing to $16.00 per hour by the end of the first year.
  • Compensation stages: $15.25/hr at 3 months, $15.50/hr at 6 months, $15.75/hr at 9 months, $16.00/hr at 12 months.
  • Employees participate in the "Careers Not Jobs" program offering merit-based pay adjustments quarterly.
  • Paid time off, paid holidays, and the employee's birthday off as a holiday.
