Job description
Position Overview
As a Bellstand Captain, you will serve as a welcoming and helpful representative of the hotel, assisting guests with amenities information, luggage handling, transportation arrangements, and ensuring their overall comfort during their stay. This role also includes supervising bell and valet staff, supporting management with team operations, and upholding high standards of service and appearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide them with details about hotel facilities, services, opening hours, and nearby attractions.
- Assist guests and visitors by opening doors, helping with luggage storage and retrieval, and transporting luggage between guest rooms and bell areas.
- Help guests enter and exit vehicles, including managing luggage loading and unloading.
- Offer directions and arrange guest transportation such as taxis, shuttles, or limousine services, recording advance requests as necessary.
- Deploy bell and valet staff efficiently as needed and communicate parking procedures to guests and visitors.
- Follow up to ensure guest requests and concerns are satisfactorily addressed.
- Exemplify departmental standards and assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching team members.
- Foster positive relationships among staff and maintain strict confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and uniformed appearance.
- Adhere to company policies, promptly report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and maintain vigilance regarding unauthorized persons.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including clear speech and telephone etiquette.
- Meet quality assurance standards consistently.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving objects up to 75 pounds with assistance, and navigating various terrains including stairs and ramps.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Work Experience: Minimum of one year in a related hospitality or guest services role.
- Supervisory Experience: Less than one year of experience supervising staff.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
