Job description

Position Overview

CGI is expanding its Space, Defence & Intelligence division in Australia and is inviting experienced professionals in Operations, Intelligence, and Capability to express interest in joining our team. This opportunity supports a robust pipeline of secured defence, national security, and federal government programs located primarily in Adelaide and Canberra. Candidates with current NV1, NV2, or TSPV security clearances are preferred, though Australian citizens eligible for clearance are encouraged to apply. This is an expression of interest rather than a hiring campaign for a specific role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Contribute to capability development and planning activities.
  • Participate in operational planning and mission analysis tasks.
  • Conduct intelligence analysis and provide decision support.
  • Engage in operational research and analytical studies.
  • Develop concepts, including CONOPS and CONEMP frameworks.
  • Support wargaming, experimentation, and force design projects.
  • Involve in strategic planning and formulation of policy.
  • Assist with capability integration and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Manage stakeholder relations across Defence, National Security agencies, and industry partners.
  • Support delivery of major capability, transformation, and national security initiatives.

Required Expertise

  • Experience in one or more: Capability Development, Capability Management, or Capability Planning.
  • Background in Operational Planning, Operational Analysis, Intelligence Analysis, or Mission Planning.
  • Skills in Operational Research, Wargaming, Experimentation, Force Design, and CONOPS/CONEMP development.
  • Familiarity with Strategic Planning, Defence Policy, Requirements Development, Joint Operations, or Defence/National Security consulting.
  • Desirable experience includes ADF service, Defence APS roles, or working with the National Intelligence Community or National Security agencies.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proven ability to translate operational requirements into tangible capability outcomes.
