About the Role

Join Tesco as a Café Team Member and become part of a vibrant team dedicated to creating a positive experience for customers each day. This role blends food preparation, cooking, customer interaction, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. You'll be instrumental in ensuring every dish meets our menu's quality and safety benchmarks, plus keeping all kitchen and dining areas clean and organized.

We guarantee a minimum of 8 working hours weekly, with flexible scheduling based on the times you are available within specified windows. Shift details will be provided with three weeks' notice, and we strive to accommodate flexibility whenever possible. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of kitchen gear and utensils.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers.
• Comply with food safety and hygiene protocols and maintain daily documentation.
• Implement first in, first out (FIFO) stock management to ensure freshness.
• Handle deliveries safely and store food appropriately.
• Adhere to all operational policies and procedures.
• Prepare, cook, and serve menu items as per standards.
• Ensure food quality and availability are consistently maintained.
• Have complete knowledge of the café menu and serve items as intended.
• Address customer complaints and escalate them to the Café Manager when necessary.
• Stay informed about business updates and new initiatives.
• Clean and sanitize tables to uphold a tidy café environment.
