Role Overview

The Butcher is responsible for preparing minced and marinated meat and portioning cuts according to customer specifications while adhering to the section’s operational and hygiene standards. This role entails tasks such as weighing, wrapping, labeling meat cuts, and arranging them attractively in display counters to meet quality and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise meat cutting, trimming, and processing using approved procedures and customer requirements.
• Accurately weigh, wrap, label, and price meat products in an efficient manner.
• Maintain well-organized display counters by replenishing meat items following presentation guidelines.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer inquiries, offering product details and suggestions.
• Inform and encourage customers about promotions and additional offerings available in-store.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout daily duties.
• Operate and maintain butchery equipment by cleaning and sanitizing them safely and correctly.
• Regularly inspect products to identify and remove any waste, expired, or defective items, and document these actions.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand basic English.
• Educational qualification of high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 1 to 2 years minimum experience in a similar butchery or meat processing role.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Flexibility and capability to work effectively within a multicultural workforce.
• Excellent listening abilities with keen attention to detail.
