About the Role

We are looking for a technically adept and business-oriented Business Systems Database Developer to create, enhance, and maintain robust database systems that underpin business applications and operations. This position demands collaboration with software developers, analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and dependable database solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement relational and enterprise application databases.
• Write advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and scripts.
• Translate business needs into effective and scalable database architectures including data models, schemas, and relationships.
• Maintain database performance through monitoring, identifying bottlenecks, and tuning.
• Conduct troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and ensure data integrity, availability, and security.
• Support integration with ERP, CRM, financial, and operational systems.
• Develop ETL and reporting solutions to aid decision-making processes.
• Manage database migrations, upgrades, system integrations, and deployments.
• Implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and security protocols in conjunction with IT and cybersecurity teams.
• Document database designs, configurations, processes, and procedures thoroughly.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to identify improvements and automate processes.
• Support testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of database-centric applications.
• Keep updated with emerging database technologies, cloud platforms, and development frameworks.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in database development or related technical domains.
• High proficiency in SQL and working with relational database systems.
• Hands-on experience with platforms like Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or equivalents.
• Strong grasp of database design principles, including data modeling, normalization, indexing, and query performance optimization.
• Expertise in stored procedures, triggers, functions, complex queries, and views.
• Familiarity with business applications such as ERP, CRM, or similar enterprise platforms is advantageous.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery methodologies.
• Knowledge of APIs, ETL processes, data warehousing, or reporting tools is a plus.
• Preferred experience with cloud database services like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Able to convert business objectives into effective technical database solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in databases, cloud platforms, or software development are beneficial.
