Role Overview
The Business Development Specialist focuses on generating outbound B2B leads by proactively reaching potential clients, mainly through calls and emails, to promote janitorial and various non-janitorial services. This position entails qualifying prospects and arranging appointments for the outside sales team, supported by meticulous client data management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research businesses that could benefit from City Wide's service offerings.
- Conduct 80 to 100 sales calls and emails daily to potential clients.
- Arrange qualified meetings for outside sales representatives.
- Maintain and update the CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) with call schedules, client information, notes, and appointments.
- Prepare and submit weekly or monthly reports according to management directives.
- Meet or exceed monthly lead generation and activity goals aligned with revenue targets.
- Send requested City Wide materials, express appreciation through thank-you notes, and follow up as necessary.
- Coordinate monthly email marketing campaigns using the company's platform.
- Participate in training aimed at progression to outside sales roles.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred but not mandatory.
- One to two years of experience in B2B outbound call center roles or equivalent prospecting and cold calling experience is highly valued.
- Organized with the ability to apply systematic approaches and adhere to defined sales processes.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with customer service orientation.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to operate independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using CRM platforms.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position offers an hourly wage of $20 supplemented by a performance-based commission structure. The workweek consists of 39 hours. Career growth is encouraged, with opportunities to advance into roles such as Sales Associate or Sales Executive contingent on demonstrated skills and performance.
