Job description
Company Overview
Singdata specializes in delivering data and analytics solutions that transform complex datasets into actionable insights for enterprises. As we broaden our footprint in Singapore and across the APAC region, we seek a driven Business Development Representative with a hunter mindset to expand our regional sales pipeline.
Role Overview
The role predominantly involves proactive outbound engagement, focusing on direct live conversations such as cold calling. You will leverage a data-centric and structured targeting methodology rather than traditional static call lists. Your objective will be to pinpoint high-potential accounts demonstrating genuine buying signals—including infrastructure shifts, funding rounds, leadership changes, and technology stacks—prioritize these systematically, and convert them into qualified sales opportunities through personalized direct outreach with calling as the primary channel, complemented by supportive mediums.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute outbound calling campaigns as a core daily activity, aiming for 50–70 calls per day depending on account priority and coverage timings.
- Operate structured multi-touch engagement cadences combining calls, emails, and LinkedIn touchpoints, ensuring calls remain central to conversations with supportive channels enhancing contact.
- Conduct in-depth discovery conversations employing structured techniques such as SPIN questioning to assess business needs, technical alignment, and purchase timelines beyond basic interest levels.
- Implement lightweight qualification frameworks like BANT or foundational MEDDPICC principles to ensure passed opportunities meet sales-ready standards.
- Secure qualified meetings directly with both economic and technical decision-makers.
- Prioritize target accounts using intent and firmographic indicators—such as tech-stack signals, recruitment trends, recent funding, and expansion activities—over traditional lead lists.
- Create and maintain detailed account and contact research using prospecting tools including Clay, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and intent-data platforms to personalize outreach.
- Monitor and report key performance metrics weekly, including dial counts, connection ratios, conversation-to-meeting conversions, meeting-to-sales qualified lead rates, and overall pipeline generated.
- Collaborate with management to review call recordings regularly to refine call approaches and objection handling.
- Keep CRM records accurate and updated for every call and meeting logged.
- Work closely with marketing teams to drive account-based marketing initiatives targeting high-priority accounts.
- Support campaigns, webinars, and industry events by motivating attendance and performing prompt outbound follow-ups.
- Seamlessly hand over qualified leads to account executives and solution consultants, providing comprehensive context.
- Provide frontline market intelligence, including objections encountered, competitor insights, and messaging effectiveness, to enhance go-to-market strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Approximately three years’ experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, or related customer-facing B2B roles.
- Comfortable and skilled in high-volume cold calling, with a preference for phone-based rather than solely inbox-based engagement.
- Background in enterprise software, SaaS, cloud computing, data, or analytics is preferred.
- Fluent in English with native-level proficiency both written and spoken.
- Resilient self-starter who thrives in a target-driven, rejection-prone environment.
- Comfortable being measured on both activity output and results.
- Strong familiarity with Singaporean business culture and professional practices.
- Proficient using CRM systems and modern sales engagement and prospecting technologies.
- Excellent skills in discovery, active listening, and managing objections.
Preferred Attributes
- Business-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
- Knowledge of additional Southeast Asian languages such as Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, or Thai is a bonus.
- Established network or prior experience engaging enterprises across Singapore, SEA, or Greater China.
- Experience selling data platforms, business intelligence tools, cloud products, or enterprise technology solutions.
- Familiar with signal-driven or intent-based prospecting tools and structured outbound sales methodologies.
- Some exposure to account-based marketing approaches.
