Role Overview
Join a growing Australian B2B software company as a Business Development Representative, tasked with generating qualified sales leads and building a structured sales pipeline. This position works closely with senior leadership and marketing, providing valuable market feedback for better product and strategy decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly learn the product offering, customer challenges, and market segments.
- Create targeted lists and outreach plans for potential accounts.
- Engage prospects via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels, focusing heavily on phone conversations.
- Conduct detailed research to develop compelling outreach messages.
- Qualify prospective opportunities and build sales-accepted pipeline.
- Promptly follow up on marketing campaigns and inbound leads.
- Schedule meaningful discovery meetings with clear context for the Business Development Manager.
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce to ensure no opportunity slips through.
- Leverage AI, automation, and engagement tools to enhance research, personalization, sequencing, and reporting.
- Utilize data analysis to refine strategies and improve results.
- Gather customer feedback, competitor data, and market insights to inform sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Support broader commercial initiatives including campaigns, proposals, and tenders as needed.

Experience & Background
- Approximately two years of experience in phone-based sales, business development, or customer-facing roles.
- Demonstrated ability to meet targets or measurable outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in SaaS, HR tech, or enterprise software is advantageous but not essential.
- A degree is beneficial but not mandatory—work ethic and aptitude are paramount.
- Business acumen and proficiency with Microsoft 365 are important.
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred; eagerness to learn CRM, sales automation, marketing platforms, and AI tools is required.
