Job description
About the Role
Join Hubexo as a Business Development Manager focused on NBS Specifier products in the construction industry. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, this hybrid role involves working three days in the office and two days remotely. NBS has served as a cornerstone for UK construction specifications for over five decades, adopted by more than 3,400 architectural and engineering firms, including a vast majority of the top AJ 100.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and manage your sales pipeline through targeted prospecting and consistent follow-up efforts.
- Engage meaningfully with architects, specifiers, and construction industry professionals to understand their needs and challenges in specification management.
- Conduct thorough discovery sessions to learn about prospective clients' workflows and priorities.
- Demonstrate NBS solutions tailored to customers’ objectives and provide persuasive proposals.
- Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through negotiation and closing.
- Maintain accurate sales records and pipeline status using HubSpot CRM.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and appointment-setting teams, while taking full accountability for new business outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proactive in creating business opportunities rather than relying on inbound leads.
- Skilled at initiating commercial discussions, asking insightful questions, and actively listening to client responses.
- Clearly communicate the value proposition and efficiently manage sales pipelines.
- Resilient mindset capable of handling challenges inherent in new-business development.
- Previous experience in B2B sales is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the construction, architecture, or specification sectors is beneficial but not mandatory; strong commercial curiosity and learning ability are highly valued.
Employment Details and Benefits
- Competitive total compensation of £60,000 OTE in the first year, comprising basic salary plus commission.
- Standard Business Development Manager level role, offering growth prospects in prospecting, discovery, pipeline management, and closing skills.
- Workweek of 35 hours from Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid working setup: three days onsite at the One Trinity Gardens office and two days working remotely.
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell holidays.
- Additional benefits including birthday leave, volunteering days, pension scheme, life assurance, discounted private medical insurance, and 24/7 access to remote GP services.
