Business Development Executive

Overview

Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton is seeking a confident and people-oriented Business Development Executive to contribute to the growth of its Bridgwater site and broaden its client portfolio across Bridgwater, Taunton, and the wider Somerset region. This full-time, permanent position is office-based with a focus on local business visits within commuting distance of Bridgwater.

Responsibilities

• Drive growth and development of Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton.
• Acquire new clients across the local area by building professional relationships.
• Create, manage, and nurture a sales pipeline of potential clients.
• Generate new business through direct face-to-face engagement, telephone calls, email follow-ups, local canvassing, and social media outreach.
• Understand client staffing needs by meeting business owners, transport managers, and key decision-makers.
• Qualify leads and maintain consistent follow-up and communication to develop opportunities.
• Collaborate with the recruitment team to convert opportunities into successful placements.
• Maintain detailed records of client interactions and sales activity.
• Contribute to expanding a dynamic, locally owned recruitment enterprise.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sales, business development, account management, recruitment, or similar client-facing commercial roles.
• Comfortable and effective in face-to-face client meetings.
• Excellent communication skills with a consultative and relationship-driven approach.
• Ability to independently manage and grow a sales pipeline.
• Adept at generating leads through various communication channels including phone, email, in-person meetings, and social media.
• Capability to discern and qualify genuine commercial opportunities.
• Holder of a full, clean UK driving licence with ability to drive automatic vehicles.
• Must be at least 23 years old to meet company vehicle insurance conditions.
• Residency within a commutable distance to Bridgwater.

Compensation & Benefits

• Initial annual salary of £27,500, rising to £30,000 after three months.
• Uncapped bonus opportunities based on personal and business performance.
• On-target earnings estimated between £45,000 and £55,000 per year.
• Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm working hours.
