The Adjutant General's Office (AGO) is a workplace serving the Indiana National Guard with facilities statewide. Role Overview

This position involves performing custodial duties, building cleaning, and minor maintenance and repair tasks for the Johnson County Armory's buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee and ensure proper use of custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Organize daily workflow and set short- and long-term objectives.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, training, and support to custodial staff.
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance.
  • Complete maintenance and inspection reports, including daily activity logs.
  • Manage hazardous waste with appropriate Bloodborne Pathogens documentation.
  • Implement proper mold remediation procedures.
  • Follow established protocols for handling biohazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and material records.
  • Clean and sanitize office spaces, restocked consumable supplies.
  • Attendance on-site during assigned work hours is essential.

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of standard custodial practices and procedures.
  • Advanced operation skills for custodial equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Safety Data Sheets and chemical mixing protocols.
  • Capable of supervising, motivating, and directing custodial teams.
  • Skilled in using and maintaining power equipment and hand tools.
  • Expert in appropriate cleaning chemicals and solvent applications.
  • Proficient in maintaining positive relationships with staff and management.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare progress documentation.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive office environments.
  • Compliance with biohazard handling and mold remediation processes.

No degree is required. Candidates should be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may include supervisory duties based on agency needs.

Compensation

The starting salary is approximately $34,216 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
