Role Overview

The Building Custodian plays a crucial role in ensuring that the school environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all occupants.

Primary Duties

• Perform daily cleaning tasks across classrooms, restrooms, and shared spaces.
• Operate various cleaning machines and equipment effectively.
• Carry out minor repair work as needed.
• Maintain outdoor grounds including mowing lawns, snow removal, and sweeping pathways.
• Manage cleaning supplies and conserve energy within the facility.
• Ensure safety protocols and cleanliness standards are consistently met throughout indoor and outdoor areas.

Qualifications and Skills

• Familiarity with proper cleaning standards and building safety codes.
• Basic understanding of minor repairs involving plumbing, heating, and electrical systems.
• Capability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and lift weights up to 70 pounds.
• Effective communication skills for positive interactions with staff and students.
• Previous experience in building and grounds maintenance is advantageous.
