Broadcast & Technology Engineer

Job Overview

The Broadcast & Technology Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, operation, maintenance, and ensuring optimal technical performance of broadcast, audiovisual, media production, and technology systems throughout the media hub. This includes support for production studios, TV control rooms, recording suites, screening rooms, post-production facilities, color grading rooms, podcasting studios, and related broadcast environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain broadcast and media technology systems while performing real-time monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Provide support for cameras, vision and audio systems, lighting setups, video servers, routers, switchers, intercoms, monitoring gear, control room devices, and infrastructure components.
• Carry out system configuration, integration, commissioning, and thorough testing.
• Perform first- and second-level fault identification and apply corrective maintenance measures.
• Continuously monitor system health to detect potential failures or disruptions.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules and conduct technical inspections.
• Assist with installation, replacement, upgrades, and commissioning of broadcast and audiovisual hardware.
• Troubleshoot issues related to signal flow, connectivity, hardware/software, and network systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and specialized contractors to facilitate maintenance, repairs, integration, and commissioning tasks.
• Examine technical documents, system architectures, drawings, and equipment manuals for compliance and accuracy.
• Keep comprehensive and accurate records including asset registers, maintenance logs, incident reports, and configuration data.
• Support live broadcasts, studio sessions, events, recordings, and other critical media operations.
• Provide recommendations to improve system reliability, efficiency, and performance.
• Ensure all activities comply with current technical standards, health and safety regulations, cybersecurity protocols, and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Broadcast, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Media Technology, or a closely related technical field.
• Professional engineering certification or certifications relevant to broadcast/AV technology are beneficial.
• Between 3 and 5 years of practical engineering experience within broadcast, media technology, AV systems, studio operations, telecommunications, or comparable technical environments.
• Hands-on work with broadcast studio setups, control rooms, post-production workflows, audio/video systems, signal routing, and media infrastructure is highly preferred.
