Position Overview
We seek an experienced Breakfast Chef de Partie to manage and support breakfast services across multiple outlets, including both à la carte and buffet formats. This role is crucial in delivering an exceptional start to each guest's day and includes close collaboration with Sous Chefs, the Executive Chef, and the wider culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, operate, and close the breakfast buffet and à la carte breakfast services according to Sofitel standards
- Prepare and cook hot and cold breakfast dishes consistently at a high quality
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards during service
- Oversee mise en place and stock rotation within your assigned section
- Assist with ordering, keeping in mind cost awareness and waste reduction
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen members and casual staff during breakfast shifts
- Coordinate with Front of House staff to maintain a seamless guest-centric service
- Provide support for events and in-room dining as necessary
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience as a Chef de Partie or a capable Demi Chef ready for advancement, preferably within a hotel, luxury establishment, or high-volume environment
- Comprehensive understanding of breakfast buffet and à la carte breakfast services
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and HACCP compliance
- Willingness and availability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Positive, proactive team-oriented attitude with an emphasis on consistency and attention to detail
- Prior experience working in a five-star hotel or upscale restaurant is highly valued
