About the Role
An established residential construction company in Eagle Farm is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join their expanding finance team. This new role involves direct collaboration with the CFO and managing daily transactional accounting and bookkeeping duties. It offers a stable, long-term opportunity with flexible working hours and a reliable workload.
Work Arrangement
This position allows scheduling from a minimum of 30 hours per week up to full-time, tailored to the candidate's preference. The role is office-based, operating five days a week, with options to adjust starting and finishing times.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing invoices from suppliers and subcontractors
- Matching invoices with purchase orders and job costings
- Handling payment runs and resolving related supplier inquiries
- Conducting reconciliations of bank, supplier accounts, and miscellaneous accounts
- Maintaining records for suppliers and subcontractors
- Following up on missing invoices and statement documents
- Assisting with month-end closing tasks and maintaining the general ledger
- Supporting the CFO through preparation of BAS workpapers, report generation, and updates to systems
- Reconciling purchase orders using Databuild software
- Occasionally undertaking data entry and administrative tasks for the estimating team
Required Skills and Experience
- At least three years’ bookkeeping experience within an Australian business context
- Strong expertise in accounts payable and bank reconciliations
- Excellent accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work autonomously while managing consistent workloads
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial data
Preferable Qualifications
- Experience within residential construction, building, or trades sectors is highly valued
- Familiarity with job costing and managing subcontractor payments is advantageous
- Experience with Databuild software is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of Onsite Companion, EzyScan, or Therefore is beneficial; training can be provided
