Job description
Role Overview
The Hamilton-based Higgins team is seeking a skilled Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join their sealing division. In this position, you will be integral to the surfacing team, operating bitumen spraying equipment safely and efficiently to ensure precise application and outstanding sealing results. The role includes handling a variety of specialized machinery to help deliver top-tier road surfacing projects throughout the region.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate bitumen sprayer machinery for sealing projects accurately
- Ensure bitumen is applied according to specifications and quality benchmarks
- Conduct regular equipment checks and perform daily inspections
- Monitor application rates and adjust based on site conditions
- Operate additional specialist sealing equipment as required
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Bitumen Sprayer Operator in chipseal, sealing, or road surfacing contexts
- Familiarity with bitumen application processes, chipseal materials, and overall surfacing operations
- Must hold a Class 4 Driver Licence; Class 5 license holders are highly preferred
- WTR (Work Time and Rest) endorsement mandatory
- Dangerous Goods endorsement is advantageous or willingness to obtain it with company support
- Competent at following work plans, Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEAs), and other site specifications
- Strong commitment to safety standards and capable of effective communication within the crew
