Role Summary

This is an ideal entry-level opportunity for candidates interested in launching a career in Mine Processing. The position is based at our Macraes Process Plant where the successful candidate will operate and optimise the Reagent Mixing and Services circuit according to critical operating documentation and standard procedures. Identifying and driving improvements within approved parameters forms part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records by completing all relevant documentation such as logs, logbooks, and checklists.
  • Mix reagents and add media to mills as required, promptly reporting unresolved variances to the Shift Coordinator.
  • Ensure dam facilities meet quality standards and complete daily inspections accordingly.
  • Participate actively in professional development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including operating various plant areas as needed.
  • Collaborate with fellow operators, gold room personnel, and other plant staff to minimise operational downtime.
  • Conduct thorough handovers at shift changes, ensuring effective communication of all relevant information.
  • Provide assistance with mechanical, electrical, metallurgical, services, and gold room tasks to maximise Processing Plant availability; including general duties, screen changes, inspections of autoclave, mill and flotation areas, pipeline maintenance, and service area audits.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a current full driver’s license; manual vehicle driving capability is preferred.
  • OSH-approved forklift license or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Eligibility to work legally in New Zealand is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in processing plants or similar industrial environments is valued.
  • Experience operating forklifts, trucks, and skid steer loaders is a beneficial asset.

Additional Details

  • This is a residential position based in the picturesque Otago region of New Zealand.
  • The work pattern involves 12-hour shifts with a rotating roster of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, covering both day and night shifts.
