Bioinformatics Editor (Contract, Onsite)

About the Role

This position seeks individuals with a solid academic background and a passion for engaging with advanced research and improving the quality of scientific writing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and edit scientific manuscripts to enhance clarity, coherence, and readability while maintaining the authors' original intent.
• Ensure subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are precise, consistent, and suitable for the intended audience.
• Enhance the presentation of complex research data to improve communication and readiness for publication.
• Edit manuscripts to uphold the highest academic writing standards, eliminating unclear, illogical, or non-idiomatic sentences, and adhere to specific guidelines and journal formatting as needed.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Informatics, Health Informatics, or Bioinformatics is mandatory.
• Strong publication history with 5 to 10 or more first-author papers.
• Previous experience in peer reviewing scientific manuscripts.
• Ability to critically evaluate study design, methodology, statistical analyses, and interpretation.
• Proven skill in critically assessing scientific content for discipline-specific exactness.
• High proficiency in written English coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
• Previous experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is advantageous.
