Role Overview
We are hiring a BIM/CAD Technician for our new office in Dar es Salaam. The technician will play a crucial role in the technical team by assisting with schematic, detailed design, and IFC package preparations. Candidates with experience in design, architectural, lighting, or electrical sectors are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize CAD authoring tools to provide technical assistance to the lighting project team.
- While BIM knowledge is a plus, the company offers internal training to develop these skills.
- Manage personal workloads ensuring all technical drawing work is accurately represented and meets project-specific content standards.
- Communicate updates regarding procedural changes and standards efficiently across the team.
- Participate in inter-disciplinary meetings, offering support and coordination where necessary.
- Handle sensitive and confidential technical information with care and discretion.
- Leverage plug-ins or custom scripts to execute lighting-related technical tasks.
- Create and issue typical lighting layouts and detail installation drawings, including reflected ceiling plans (RCP) and section/drawing coordination, mainly using AutoCAD and BIM software.
- Support the design team with complete submittal preparations.
- Ensure all project work is securely saved and confidentiality maintained at all times.
Software Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (basic presentation additions).
- Expert level in AutoCAD usage.
- Intermediate skills in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, or Collaborate Pro with room for development.
- Familiarity with visualization and lighting design software like Enscape, Dialux Evo, 3D Studio Max, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign is beneficial.
