BIM Lead - Large Capital Projects

Position Summary

We are seeking a BIM Lead to provide expert BIM support, including project setup, ongoing maintenance, and model federation for users and projects. This role is based in Cork or Dublin offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main BIM contact for projects, representing BIM at client and tier-level meetings.
• Exhibit effective communication and leadership to influence stakeholders, chair workshops, and establish strong relationships with clients, design teams, and third parties to ensure project success.
• Conduct weekly client-facing BIM and interoperability workshops to coordinate delivery in line with client and third-party workflows.
• Ensure all project BIM documentation and models comply with internal, client, and international standards, including ISO 19650.
• Lead BIM efforts on complex capital projects such as API manufacturing facilities, Biopharma plants, and large-scale data centers, delivering top-tier quality and compliance.
• Provide strategic BIM leadership and governance: oversee quality assurance, clash management, and model management; manage audits and reviews; develop and maintain BIM documentation (BEP, MIDP, standards, workflows, reports).
• Escalate risks, non-compliance issues and track minutes of meetings regarding BIM decisions, ensuring prompt corrective actions.
• Manage BIM team integration and hours aligned with project milestones.
• Collaborate closely with the BIM Department Manager to align project delivery with company BIM strategies.
• Oversee BIM project setup, administration, and support on multiple software platforms including Forma (ACC), Revit, Navisworks, CadWorx, Plant 3D, SmartPlant, AutoCAD, ensuring models and data meet client and project standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven leadership experience delivering BIM on complex capital projects like API facilities, Biopharma plants, or large-scale Data Centers.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing senior clients and global teams.
• Level 8+ qualification in a relevant discipline, or minimum 8 years’ experience in engineering or construction.
• Demonstrated capability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on medium to large capital projects.
• Strong understanding of project information management and its application throughout project lifecycles.
• Excellent time management with ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Extensive hands-on experience with multiple BIM software suites: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC, etc., with aptitude to oversee and challenge model managers effectively.
