Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join the expanding team of a major law firm based in Dublin 2. This position offers a stable working environment coupled with a variety of responsibilities within a firm known for excellent employee retention and a competitive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing billing activities for assigned partners and solicitors.
  • Accurately inputting and maintaining billing and client data in the firm's practice management systems.
  • Preparing and distributing preliminary bills and final invoices.
  • Drafting detailed narratives based on Work In Progress Reports and calculating relevant financial figures.
  • Coordinating with Fee Earners to confirm all billable time is captured and processing approved bills with the Accounts department.
  • Creating transaction bills according to clients' specifications.
  • Addressing and resolving billing discrepancies, including rejections and appeals.
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and following up as necessary.
  • Collaborating closely with solicitors and legal personnel on billing issues.
  • Supporting new matter setup and various billing-related administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining up-to-date electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  • Performing other administrative duties and occasional special projects as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required

  • At least three years of experience in a billing role, preferably within a legal environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capability to operate effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative in decision-making.
