Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join the expanding team of a major law firm based in Dublin 2. This position offers a stable working environment coupled with a variety of responsibilities within a firm known for excellent employee retention and a competitive compensation package.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing billing activities for assigned partners and solicitors.
- Accurately inputting and maintaining billing and client data in the firm's practice management systems.
- Preparing and distributing preliminary bills and final invoices.
- Drafting detailed narratives based on Work In Progress Reports and calculating relevant financial figures.
- Coordinating with Fee Earners to confirm all billable time is captured and processing approved bills with the Accounts department.
- Creating transaction bills according to clients' specifications.
- Addressing and resolving billing discrepancies, including rejections and appeals.
- Monitoring outstanding balances and following up as necessary.
- Collaborating closely with solicitors and legal personnel on billing issues.
- Supporting new matter setup and various billing-related administrative tasks.
- Maintaining up-to-date electronic and hard copy filing systems.
- Performing other administrative duties and occasional special projects as assigned.
Experience and Skills Required
- At least three years of experience in a billing role, preferably within a legal environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Capability to operate effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative in decision-making.
